Skill/ Advance FCA

I'm back with another exciting 2 part camp starting with skills camp on June 8th. I was in charge with the littlest group aging from 8-10 years old. They were a ball of energy and with 5 guys helping out, they ran around like sheep. Everyone was greatly effected by our bible talks, testimonies and little spark conversations that grew interest in God. we had a busy schedule starting at 6:15 AM and ending at 11 PM. We worked out, skated, played sports, ate and had huddle talks. At the camp ground at Luther Crest bible camp, we had interesting prayers before dinner, played games like gaga ball, dodge ball, basketball, ping ball, fools ball and air hockey. During the night worship service, Josh Wagner (Also my roommate) sang his heart out for God and each night we had a Testimony from interns, coaches and FCA staff during the week. We had over 40 kid walked away with a renewed faith and it was fantastic.
Straight after the skill camp ended on June 12th, advance camp kids ages 13-17 started coming in to start the next 4 in a half days of camp. These guys are gifted whether its from skating, shooting, passing; Or communicating, having a good attitude or teachable. These guys are so respectful, helpful kids. During this camp we did Yoga which was a first for all us guys to do, but it was an eye opening experience. Then had power skating session in the morning, skill session in the afternoon with One-timers on day one, battle drills on day two, stick handling on day three and lastly special teams on day four. We watched the big game 7 Stanley Cup Finales at the camp ground, we missed the 1st 10 minutes of the game because someone was was trying to watch the Canadian broadcast instead of American. We had many amazing testimonies, one from a Northstar player and Stas Agafonov, our Russian friend for the month. His mission is to spread FCA Hockey, 'to make disciples of Christ' in Russia.

we have been blessed to grow through these camps mentoring these kids and have them set up to continually have us as a outlet to talk about Jesus and how to live by what the bible said. I've learned how much work it takes to make this happen and grown my endurance emotionally, physically and spiritually. I have never been able to do this internship without support from donations. Please continue to pray for FCA Hockey and everyone beside the scenes serving for Christ to spread his message around the globe. tap this link, Ethan McKinley FCA Donations , to donate.

A year without Hockey

My season and junior hockey career ended by falling short to the playoffs with the CT Chiefs on February 28th, 2020. I was injured (but still playing), touring multiple college campuses, texting and emailing with college coaches to get them to come see if what I had to offer was good for their program.  Energy, Speed, relentlessness, passion and loyalty. Injured or not, I was driven to get on a college team and take the next step in my life. Then as I was a phone call away from commiting to a college, that's when the world literally started shutting down. 14 days to flatten the curve.  The hockey world, while I was at a rink watching pro sports, shut down right before my own eyes. People preluding to wearing masks even before the mandatory mask mandates and breaking news that weekend of a national shutdown across the U.S. I was heartbroken, stressed and feared what would happen next for everyone in everyday life and hockey.  The only thing that kept me sane an...

Better Late than Never

Hello all, posting in 2021 after an amazing summer in Alexandria, MN. Between the morning skates, devotions, 'the program' and camps; we had our hands full but also our hearts to keep pressing on and serving our summers for the mission to spread the gospel of Jesus to ice hockey players. It was a fast sprint during our camps between a 2 1/2 week timespan from youth to professional athletes. We had many testimonies, rededications and salvations this summer, it was overwhelming but amazing to see God's plans unfold. Gods hand was over everything and we were able to stay healthy and have a great impact this last summer. I ended up helping Northstar Sportsplex becoming a go-to Zamboni driver and in charge of ice maintenance along with my normal duties; coaching, helping with devotions, cleaning and inventory of everything. I really was going to miss Northstar however I had to leave to start my freshmen year at Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA.      One of the mai...

Don't be scared to take a hit

Sorry guys for not posting in a while, its been a crazy couple of weeks. Lets start with a story from the bible- Jonah    Jonah back in the day was a modern day prophet at his time in his 'mission trip' to assure people about the living God, his word, and his promises. He was a clever man and seemed to be fearless for God was on his side... Jonah 1 1-3 NLT "The lord gave this message to Jonah son of Amittai: “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it because I have seen how wicked its people are.” But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the lord . He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the lord by sailing to Tarshish."        So a man strong in his faith with God ran away... Isn't that ironic that sometimes when the odds are against us and we are destined to do the imp...
